This project contains photographs I made between 2019 and 2025, years marked by loss, the pandemic, and a shift in how I move through the world. When my mom passed in 2020, I grieved not only her absence but also the places she never got to see. That loss reminded me how little time we really have, and how much I’d overlooked in the landscapes close to home.

I have rediscovered my love for the road trip. I’ve wandered through Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and beyond—sometimes with my wife Hannah, sometimes alone. I stop at roadside markers, sleep at KOAs and primitive campsites, and spend long stretches under open skies with my camera.

In my younger years I craved noise and constant company; now I find myself seeking quiet and solitude. These photographs are records of that search—moments of pause that ground me. My hope is they offer viewers a measure of the same peace I’ve found in them.
